ABC Go: Turning AR into Real Learning and Parent-Child Interaction — Part 2

In the first part of this story, I shared how we found a solution to one of the biggest issues with traditional AR toys — the lack of real educational value and long-term engagement. Our answer was to introduce an educational mode, where kids could not only see but also hear and learn about the animals in a deeper, more meaningful way.

But that was only half of the solution.

The second — and perhaps even more important — step was adding a mode that encourages interaction and bonding between the child and the parent.

We called it Parent Play Mode.

Here’s how it works. The idea is simple: instead of letting the child play alone, this mode invites parents to join in the experience. Parents can ask questions based on what appears on the screen. They can suggest tasks like:

  • “Can you find the animal that lives in the jungle?”
  • “Which one makes this sound?”
  • “Can you make the lion roar louder than the tiger?”

Suddenly, the AR experience turns into a conversation, a game between parent and child. It becomes a shared adventure where they laugh, guess, and learn together. This type of cooperative play is key to developing communication skills, emotional connection, and deeper understanding.

At the same time, this approach solves the “short attention span” problem. Kids stay engaged much longer when a parent is actively playing with them, guiding them, and reacting to their discoveries.

So, what did we achieve with ABC Go?

  • AR that’s more than just visual — it’s educational.
  • A tool that brings parents and children together.
  • A game that teaches through play, not through passive watching.

This is the heart of ABC Go. Not just fun, not just beautiful 3D — but smart, interactive, and family-friendly learning.
